Bridget's Cabinet found this beautiful 19th. Century French Rare wooden box once used as pice of Cloutage Folk Art. Cloutage means nailing in French.
This wooden box contains all kinds of small boxes filled with little fine nails of various colors. also some instruments necessary to make the nail art creations. there is an unfinished piece as well, it's an unfinished portrait list which you can see on one of the attached pics so you have an idea of what they made with these boxes.
it is a very unique and complete piece of folk art from the 19th. Century, a unique treasure for the collector
