Antique French Guilloché Enamel Powder Compact Art Deco period, circa 1910–1920

US$325.00
Item number: DIV-1533

An elegant antique French miniature powder compact dating to the early Art Deco period, finely crafted in silver and decorated with luminous guilloché enamel. This charming vanity box retains its original interior mirror and original powder puff—both wonderful survivals and increasingly difficult to find.

The lid is centred with a vivid emerald-green guilloché enamel panel, created using the traditional engine-turned technique beneath a translucent enamel layer. This produces a striking radiating pattern with beautiful depth and light reflection. The green centre is framed by an ornately detailed white enamel border with delicate gold accents, giving the compact a refined and balanced appearance.

The base is likely sterling silver or high-quality silver plate, showing a soft, attractive patina consistent with age. The enamel decoration is composed of finely ground glass fused to the metal, a hallmark of quality French workmanship of the period.

A highly collectible Art Deco vanity accessory, suitable for use as a powder compact, pill or snuff box, or as an elegant display piece.
