1930s Rare French Counter Top Bust Signed
a rare and beautiful half-sized bust, made in France of plaster, circa 1920s–1930s.
This piece is exceptional not only for its rarity but also for its remarkable features: a finely detailed face with glass eyes (complete with eyelashes), porcelain teeth, and — most unusually — arms and hands, posed gracefully as if holding a drapery or shawl. The combination of these elements makes this a highly uncommon find.
The craftsmanship is exquisite, with delicate detailing throughout. Her expression is sweet and lifelike, enhanced by her expressive glass eyes. She is in perfect condition and has clearly been well cared for over the decades.
This bust was likely once used as a shop display — perhaps in a boutique window or on a counter — and would have served as a striking and elegant presentation piece.
To suggest how she can be styled, I photographed her with a feather boa (not included). However, she does come with the antique headband shown: a charming accessory made from antique beads and pearls, finished with a soft, chocolate-brown feather.
A truly unique and atmospheric piece, perfect for the collector seeking something rare, expressive, and full of old-world charm.
